When I received the Chentilly Cosmetics Suns Out Buns Out palette, they were also kind enough to send me one of their Glow Dust loose highlighters to test out. Normally, loose highlighters are not my go to because they are difficult to control and some are similar to loose pigments, but priced higher. This is not the case with their formula.
I was immediately shocked by the vibrant, and wet glow my skin had after using them. I was even more taken at back when I saw they only cost $8. I immediately went to their website to get my hands on the other shades. One shade was sold out, but I was able to pick up 2 more to test and compare to some of my high end highlighters.
Swatches
I was sent Diced Diamonds which is yellow gold with golden reflects. I purchased Glow Doe, a soft champagne loose highlighter with a pop of blue reflects; and Frosted Rose, a rosy pink loose highlighter with blue and purple reflects. Each are $8 but I was able to take 30% off since it was my first time shopping on the website.
The first two are perfect for my skin tone, while frosted rose is a little dark and better suited for those with deeper complexions. I will probably mix it with Glow Doe to make it lighter, or use it as a shimmery blush topper to add illumination to my cheeks.
When I applied these highlighters, and saw the high impact shine with a wet appearance, my first thoughts were that they would be an affordable alternative to the Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder so I grabbed La Peach and La Bronze from the Jackie Aina collaboration, to immediately compare them.
Top 3: Chentilly Cosmetics; Bottom 2: Jackie Aina x Artist Couture
When I swatched all of them on my arm, I saw practically no difference. I will say that the glitter is slightly more finely milled in the Artist Couture formula, but it is barely noticeable when on the face. Since Artist Couture is $27 versus the $8 Chentilly price tag, it is my opinion that Chentilly is definitely a better option for those who are budget conscious.
Even if you can afford Artist Couture or already have some in your collection and love them, you will be satisfied with the Glow Dust formula. They are definitely worth a try because you can’t get this impact for that price from anyone else.
