When the Summer months hit in Florida, that means it’s time to switch out your regular products for skincare that is better equipped to deal with the intense 100+ heat and intense sun rays. I take my summer skin protection very seriously, so I was very happy to receive a package from Soleil Toujours that addresses my specific needs.

After Sun Rescue + Repair Brightening Serum ($98)

The first item in the package that I started using immediately was the brightening serum. It is described as a breakthrough silicone-free serum that offers the ultimate in sun damaged skin rescue and repair. I’ve been using this consistently twice a day for over a month. Organic Sheer Sunscreen Mist SPF 50 ($34)

One of the items I desperately needed/wanted was an SPF mist. This spray is described as a clear broad spectrum formula, and is the only 70%+ organic sunscreen mist formulated without oxybenzone or octinoxate. Some of the key organic ingredients include:

I’ve always shied away from SPF mists because normally the ingredients burn my very sensitive skin. I also don’t like using lotions that I have to rub in because they often dry my skin out. Because the harsh chemicals are not in this spray formula, i did not have either problem. It went on smoothly, and dried to create a very sheer sheen on my skin and I did not have any irritation while wearing it.

While it is water resistant up to 80 minutes, I mostly use it when I’m running out of the house or driving because I do not have tints on my windows. What I like most about it is how easy it is to reapply, and the slight cooling affect when spraying that gives me much needed relief when out in the sun.

Après Soleil Exotic Shimmer Body Oil ($56)

Since Shimmer body oils have been trending this year, this is the item I was most excited to try. It is described as being an oil with a hint of shimmer and a touch of bronze. It is a moisturizing dry body oil that provides essential skin softening and nourishing benefits. The key ingredients include Rosehip Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Pomegranate Seed Oil, and Rosemary Leaf Extract. It’s benefits include:

• Hypoallergenic, vegan and gluten-free formula.

• NO parabens, petrolatum, phthalates, sodium laurel sulfates, propylene glycol, animal ingredients or testing, no synthetic fragrances or colors.

I’ve seen a number of body oils that are too oily, and too shimmery that made me not sure if it was an item I actually wanted to try. This oil creates a subtle bronze glow on your skin, that isn’t too glittery or greasy with just the right amount of shine. Since it is made from a number of hydrating oils I enjoy using individually n my eczema prone skin, I actually noticed improvement in my skin on the days I’ve used it. It is great to seal in moisture after a shower and even good to wear on top of the SPF mist.

Final Thoughts

Protecting my skin and using the right products during the intense Summer months is a major priority for me, and Soleil Toujours products help to make it easier to do so. I will keep the Rescue + Repair Serum and SPF Mist in my regime year round, and will most likely use the oil in the Summer or for special occasions.
