Work It Like an Icon with Neutrogena's Hydroboost

As I’ve gotten older and adjusted to the South Florida weather and water, I’ve been having slight difficulty with moisture retention, sun damage, and my pore size. All my holy grails stopped working, and everything new I tried hasn’t worked to the point where I almost threw in the towel and told myself “I’m just stuck with this.” That is, until I was given the opportunity to try the new Hydro Boost products from Neutrogena.

The Hydro Boost collection is all infused with purified hyaluronic acid that gives your skin tons of moisture to help you get that bounce back with every step. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and here’s what’s been happening.

The first product I tried was the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine (9.99) which was a Women’s Day Great Values Awards Winner of 2018.

This product claims to create the look of fuller lips, and instantly quenches lips with intense conditioning shine in a Non-sticky, non-drying formula.

The claims are true! It is unlike a lip gloss is unlike any other gloss because it has the color of a lip stick which helps to cover up dark spots on my lips but feels like a lip balm, so I didn’t need to wear both. It filled in all of the lines in my lips and was easy to wear.

Since it is a gloss, you do have to reapply through the day but even when the color fades, the moisturizing effects still last long after and is one of the best glosses I’ve used to date.

The 2nd product I tried was the Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion SPF 50 (12.49) a Seventeen Beauty Awards Winner of 2018.

SPF is KEY in South Florida year-round, but I hate the color and the typical purple cast it leaves on my skin giving my skin a Grey appearance. It also leaves a drying after effect that can irritate my eczema and overall sensitive skin. With the Hydro Boost SPF, I did not have this problem at all!

It goes on smooth like a regular lotion, has no SPF cast, and the smell is amazing! I’ve been using it in place of my regular lotion and have no issues with my eczema at all. And the SPF 50 is just what I needed for the intense Miami summer sun.

I’ve also been using it on my face which I normally don’t do. I usually have one for my body, and one for my face. This formula is good to use on all areas of your body, and is oil-free and non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog pores or make you sweat. It didn’t react badly with my primer or alter the color of my foundation, so I’m going to keep this one in my daily makeup routine.

The formula is also water-resistant for your beach and pool trips. I haven’t had a chance to test this claim, but will be headed to Vegas next weekend and this is most definitely the first thing I’m packing in my luggage for the walks on the strip, and pool parties.

Next, I tried the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel (8.99)

This cleanser is Soap-free, oil-free, paraben-free, and hypoallergenic. When I first used it I thought I wasn’t using enough product because it doesn’t get sudsy, but it has a gel formula that has a filly feel, so it is almost like washing your face with a light weight lotion. It doesn’t leave any residue on your face, and leaves your skin feeling extremely clean like a typical cleanser would but doesn’t have the drying after affect. Your skin is left feeling soft and hydrated that last long after your skin is dry.

The last product I tried, that I definitely needed the most is the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum (19.99)

As I’ve gotten older and adjusted to the new climate I’ve moved into, my pores have grown, and I’ve generally had an uneven appearance in my skin because of the constant sun exposure. I can also never tell if I’m going to have a dry or oily skin day, because my skin is so unpredictable now.

This serum has stabilized almost all my issues. My overall texture has smoothed out, and the hydration benefits of the hyaluronic acid has helped to even out my skin tone and beginning to help reduce the size of my pores. The addition of moisture has also help to stabilize the unpredictability of my skin, and I haven’t had excessive oils break through my makeup towards the end of my day. I even went a few days without makeup to see how it works, and it gave my skin a natural glow from within that didn’t look greasy.

If you are like me with extremely sensitive skin, and struggle with retaining moisture, then I highly recommend this product line. You won’t be disappointed with the results.
