Chentilly Cosmetics Suns Out Buns Out Palette

If you had the chance to read my black owned shopping guide, you may have noticed a sunny palette in my eyeshadow category from Chentilly Cosmetics. I was fortunate enough to receive a palette just in time to create bright and bronzer summery looks.

The Palette

Swatches in Natural Light Outdoors

The Suns Out Buns Out Palette ($25) is a 12-pan warm color themed palette, made up of 8 matte shades and 4 shimmers. While there’s 4 creamy and easy to blend neutral mattes for everyday wear, there’s also beautiful deep oranges and a pop of the very trendy yellow shade for the summer season. You then have your choice of 4 vibrant shimmer shades to add an attention grabbing pop to your lid.

I played around with this palette for a week, and created 2 very different looks using the palette. One colorful yet wearable diffused look for day time, and a sunny glam cut crease for nights out.

Bright Day Time Look

I started by using Nudie Bootie as my transition shade, and took that up to my eyebrow.

I then used Honey Bun for a pop of yellow above my crease.

I used a combination of Fuego and Hot Tamale on my outer v and in my crease, as well as my bottom lash line.

I used Sand Castle to deepen my outer v slightly, and directly in my crease fold for additional dimension.

I applied Senorita to my lid.

I added Glazed to the very center of my lid, inner corner, and brow bone.

For a little bit more color, I added Mimosa to my inner corner highlight.

Although this is bright, in my opinion it is still very wearable for the day time because there are no harsh lines. This is the perfect day time summer look, that will be perfect for outdoor brunches, or day parties.

Glam Evening Look

I wanted to test the versatility of this palette by creating a very dramatic cut crease.

First, I applied B.B.B as my transition shade

I applied Hot Tamale in my crease, and outer v. I blended it out to just below my brow bone

I deepened my crease with Sun Bum before cutting my crease slightly above my natural fold with concealer. I then added this shade to my outer v and diffused it into the concealer.

I packed on Honey Bun as a base shade on top of the concealer.

I applied Glazed directly on top of Honey Bun, as well as in my inner corner.

I used Tan Lines to diffuse and blend the bright yellow gold into my outer v. I also ran this shade along my bottom lash line.

If bold dramatic looks are your style, or if you prefer to take your shadows down you can easily achieve both with this palette. Check it out for yourself, and Chentilly’s full collection in their Online Store.
