Are you Lit or Wet with Bretmanrock x Colourpop?
I LOVE Bretmanrock, so when he launched a collection with Colourpop I bought it the day it was released.
Not only did he release a collection, he released 2-in-1 with his wet and lit sets, that are made up of 6 products each in cool and warm color stories.
Each set features an eyeshadow palette, a liquid lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner, blush, and a body glitter, available in a bundle for $91 or sold individually.
I have converted to the convenience of face palettes and I didn’t purchase the blushes. I am also not a glitter fan either, so I stuck to the palettes and the lip kits.
Wet & Lit Eyeshadow Palettes
The palettes stood out to me because I wanted to get shadows in a specific color story to create a look without having to use multiple palettes. I’ve accumulated so many multi-colored palettes, it becomes annoying when I have to reach for 2/3 and also makes travel more difficult.
I especially love these because of the small size, that you can just throw in your bag if you’re going to be out all day, and they take up less space when you travel. The only downside is that the glitter on the packaging isn’t sealed, so if you aren’t careful it will get everywhere.
The Lit Pressed Powder Palette ($12)
The 8 shade palette features 5 matte shades and 2 metallics, and one duo chrome.
If you are looking for an affordable cranberry shadow for the season, this one should definitely be an option. The colors blend together easily and are extremely vibrant.
The Wet Pressed Powder Palette ($12)
This palette is a cool blue palette, that also comes with 8 shadows. This one has 4 mattes, 1 shimmer, and 3 metallics.
Cool tones are the hardest to formulate, so I has slight issues with patchiness and the colors looking muddy when I first started playing with it. The only shadow I didn’t have trouble with was Thickems, which is one of the best metallic silver shadows I have EVER used.
Wet & Lit Lip Kits
Since seed beauty manufacturers both Kylie Cosmetics, and Colourpop, I was intrigued by the lip sets. I wanted to try the more affordable sets to see how I’d like them before I splurged on the slightly more expensive Kylie kits.
The Lit Lip Bundle ($16)
The Dukes Lippie pencil is a deep merlot colored liner.
The Wig ultra satin liquid lipstick is a brick red that still maintains its lustre when dries down.
The I See You ultra glossy lip gloss is a sheer gold based topper with pink, red and gold glitter reflects. On its own you can see the gold tint in the base of the gloss, but as a topper it adds more shine to the liquid lipstick.
The Wet Lip Bundle ($16)
The BFF3 Lippie pencil is a dark brown liner, and the only product in the collection that is a pre-existing product of colourpop. I assume it’s popularity and versatility is what got it into this specific kit.
The She Cute ultra satin liquid lipstick is a peachy nude that is the most wearable product for everyday in the collection.
On its own, the Kumquat ultra glossy lip gloss appears blue but wears clear. From my understanding, the blue base helps to enhance the appearance of whiter teeth. As a topper, it makes your lipstick base appear to have a wet look.
I am a fan of the liquid lipstick applicators. It is a fluffy doe foot and incredibly easy to get a smooth line due to it being tapered on the end. The gloss applicator however easily stains, so if you don’t want your lipstick to alter the color of your gloss, you have to either apply with a disposable brush or with your finger.
All in all, I think the products aren’t the most amazing that I own, but certainly worth the affordable price. I love the liquid lipsticks, but I prefer a more high impact gloss, and liners that are a bit less creamy.
I had some difficulty working with the wet shadow palette, and watched several reviews plus get new eyeshadow products to get a decent eyeshadow look (still working on perfecting it to photograph). However, I think the high impact appearance, and creamy texture of Thickems alone is worth the entire value of the palette.
I am more of a warm color fan, so the Lit palette is absolutely worth the value. The mattes are versatile, and the shimmers aren’t overwhelming so it is wearable for everyday. I expect to get great use out of this palette once summer starts.
You can order the complete collection from Colourpop online. So which one are you? 💦 or 🔥?
