Colourpop Cosmetics Sweet Talk Pressed Powder Palette

Since Pantone announced the color of the year was coral, I knew I needed to add a palette in that color scheme to my collection. I tend to lean more towards orangey corals, but after I saw Rawbeautykristi do a look with the Sweet Talk palette, I knew I had to add it to my collection. Once it was restocked, I didn’t waste any time and ordered it the minute I saw Add to Cart was an option.

Sweet Talk Pressed Powder Palette - ($18)

This is Colourpop’s first palette that contains 4 different finishes:

  • Pressed Glitter (Prima Drama, Early Morning’)

  • Super Shock (Side2Side)

  • Pressed Matte (Catch Me, Work It, Meadow, Dream Maker, ICYMI, West Side, Feel Free)

  • Pressed Metallic (Garden Date, Melody)

Normally I shy away from glitter, but that was the fist thing that caught my eye when I saw the looks people were creating from the palette. They are so reflective it is actually hard to capture their actual color on camera.

The palette is very pretty, but I wish there were a few less mattes and more metallics. I personally feel glitter is for specific occasions, and in my opinion the super shock shadow was difficult to work with, so having a couple more shimmery metallics to add a pop to your lid would have taken this palette to another level.

Eyeshadow Look

I used 7 of the 12 shadows to create a look.

First I used Work It to set my concealer, and to act as a transition shade;

Next I applied Meadow in my crease to add the coral color I was after;

I depended my crease with West Side, and below my bottom lash line;

I added Feel Free to my outer v, directly in my crease for dimension, and along my lash line. I also used it as a smokey liner to add some definition to my top lash line;

I added Garden Date to my lid as a base for the glitter;

I applied Prima Drama on top of Garden Date (did not photograph well);

I tried adding Side2Side to my inner corner.

Besides the glitter not showing up true to form in studio lighting, and the super shock formula being finicky (had trouble with getting it to apply smoothly, and couldn’t figure out the proper brush for application) this is a really pretty palette that is great for Spring, and even early summer.

If you’re drawn to the corals, make sure to pick it up from Colourpop Online before it sells out again!
